At Smiles R Us, we do our absolute best to preserve your smile by maintaining your teeth with a thorough cleaning and examination process. However, there will be times where your teeth can no longer be properly maintained.
If there is no other option, a tooth extraction may be needed. This may be the result of the tooth being damaged to the point of being irreparable, or if there is not enough room for your braces and teeth may need to be removed to fit.

Some teeth may also require surgical removals if the roots may prevent a straight extraction. Wisdom teeth will always require such removals, especially for those who require braces.
After extraction, please allow up to 24 hours for the gums to heal and for 72 hours do not chew, drink or brush near the areas that were extracted. Gauzes will be given to you to clot the bleeding post-extraction.
For more information about extractions or to set up an appointment for an extraction, call (210) 694-4999. We also offer emergency services if it is needed.
